    Recent instances of police-involved killings within our community–including Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Akai Gurley, and Tamir Rice–have increased polarization of …
    race relations in the United States. As a community, it is important for us to come together to discuss these events.

    This panel and community forum will provide an opportunity to address:

    divisions between communities of color and the police;
    divisions within communities of color;

    Within 30 days Bratton orchestrates the forced retirement of Chief of Department Phillip Banks and 1st Deputy Commissioner Rafael Pinero and within one week the forced retirement of Chief of …Department William Clemons

    With reckless disregard Bratton eliminated the two highest ranking and influential minority leaders of the NYPD. With no concern or sensitivity to Police and Community relations in New York City, Bratton’s actions also alarmed and alienated minority officers.The same disregard was applied to Chief of Department William Clemons.

    The National Latino Officers Association, Grand Council of Guardians, 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care, joined by other community based organizations call on Mayor De Blasio to reign in Bratton. The hard work, professionalism and dedication of NYPD minority law enforcement officers needs to be recognized and appreciated with visible policy positions in the NYPD.
